There are some smaller players like Bibble, Gimp, etc. I will move from bootcamp to Parallels so and will continue to use the Microsoft software and shelve my copies of Elemets for good. I really wanted to try to use the Mac without Parallels but am disappointed in iPhoto’s editing abililties. It is not bad for a good portion of the population I’m not pro but more of a serious amature and iPhoto does not come close to being sufficient and PSCS2 is too complex.
Should I convert my entire library and make it Aperture based or should I just use it from this point forward I have probably well over GB of photo files. I was hoping to catch the Aperture seminar at the Apple Store this past Friday but an emergency came up so I’ll try to catch it next Friday.

I tend to need white balance help with the camera that I have. GIMP is a full featured free software which will do just about anything that Photoshop can. It’s a little less user friendly than photoshop, but the free price is nice. I like GIMP. I barely know how to do anything but the pictures turn out great IMO.
TuckHard likes this. I’m cautious about using GIMP due to my limited technical abilities. Kentucky , Oct 2, I have not used it to read in raw image files and adjust color temperature values like I do in Photoshop, so I don’t know if it has that mechanism.
